A queer couple is moving to West LA from the east coast this month and needs to find a new full-time, long-term nanny! The position will begin as soon as the right person is found, ideally by the end of May.
The parents have a developed approach to parenting and they would like a nanny who is open to following their lead with their style, based on patience, empathy, and consistency, avoiding power struggles and punishments and their goal is to raise emotionally healthy, resilient, curious kids with strong, connected relationships.
Parent 1 works as a nurse practitioner, out of the home. Parent 2 works from home as a writer (but will be on parental leave until December.)
This sweet family of 4 (including an almost 5-year-old girl and a 2-year-old boy) is about to grow to a family of 5! They are expecting a baby girl in July. All hands-on deck! The family also has one small, anxious but loving and friendly dog.
The guaranteed schedule will be M-F 9am-5pm (flexibility to come earlier or stay later for extra hours would be helpful.) The pay being offered for this position is $35-$40 per hour. Standard paid time off will be provided.
The requirements for this position are as follows: 3-5 years of professional childcare experience (with at least 1 nanny position and glowing references), native Spanish with fluency in English, current CPR/FA certification (in-person), clean criminal background, and a clean driving record with a safe, reliable vehicle (they will potentially get a nanny car once the baby arrives.) An annual flu shot, current tdap and initial covid vaccine are required. Must be LGBTQIA+ friendly and familiar with LA. College coursework is a plus, but not a dealbreaker. Must be authorized to work in the US.
The family describes their household as chill and communicative. They are really invested in developing the skills as parents to give their kids emotional intelligence. They are looking for someone patient and calm, who will allow independent play. Someone with energy and a positive, happy vibe, someone social for playdates. It is a plus if the nanny has experience with current trends in parenting but ultimately, they are looking for someone willing to learn and partner with them.
The job duties are only related to the children (and help with the dishwasher.) Occasional travel might be requested.
If this amazing family sounds like a dream fit for you, please send your professional childcare resume to naysnannies@gmail.com with the subject FT PALMS NANNY!
Thank you!
