A very warm and friendly family in the Lincoln Heights neighborhood of East LA is searching for a new full-time nanny to begin right away! Mom is an elementary school principal and dad is a lawyer. Dad works from home some of the time, and mom will be around as well, until her maternity leave ends. They would love to make this a long-term situation!
The children of the family are two girls, one easygoing and sweet 7-year-old, and one silly, button pushing and lovable 5-year-old. A new baby is also coming in early January! Both girls are in school all day. The job will consist of drop-offs, pick-ups, transporting to/from activities, active playtime, and family assistant duties (they have a housekeeper, think errands, laundry, light meal prep and organizing) while the girls are in school for the first few months.
When mom returns to work, the job will shift gears, with the baby’s care and child related duties becoming the priority. The family has one large, old dog who will not be part of the nanny’s responsibilities; but comfort around dogs is important.
***Please note: this sweet family is currently facing a serious medical challenge, as their oldest daughter is undergoing cancer treatment. The position will therefore require an incredibly special and trustworthy person who is empathetic, considerate, and very health conscious, completely up to date with their vaccinations (covid with most recent booster, flu shot from this year and current tdap) and already habitual about this. With the sensitive nature of this situation, we ask that you please do not apply unless this describes you, for the sake of the child’s wellbeing.***
The requirements for this position are a minimum of 5 years’ professional experience (starting at age 18) with both infants and with school-aged children, a clean driving record with a reliable, insured vehicle to get to and from work (there is a vehicle available for the nanny to use for on the job driving), current cpr/first aid certification and a clean criminal record. Must be fluent in English, punctual (they would like someone who lives local to their area), detail oriented, respectful, patient, active, have solid decision-making skills and be legal to work in the US. This family truly sees the value a professional career nanny brings to the table; their ideal nanny is someone who takes ownership of their job, with the genuine intention of falling in love with their kids and developing a strong bond with the entire family!
The pay for this position is $35 per hour, with standard paid time off.
If you feel you could be a wonderful fit for this loving family, please send your resume to naysnannies@gmail.com with the subject “LH Nanny!” Thank you!
